The much awaited junior sports meet of Amrita Vidyalayam, Hauslon Ki Udaan, was held on March 8, 2019 with great zeal and fervor. Arjun awardee and Asian Games gold medalist in boxing, Mr. Raj Kumar Sangwan, graced the occasion as the chief guest and in his address he emphasized on the need of giving equal opportunities to all children to participate and make a career in sports. After the torch lighting and oath taking ceremony, the distinguished guests took the salute of the impressive march past in which the four houses of the school, namely Amritamayi, Anandmayi, Chinmayi and Jyotirmayi house took part. The Amrita band rendered invigorating beats to the formal march led by the captains of the houses. In her keynote address the principal, Bri. Samapika, exhorted the pupils to honour the true spirit of sportsmanship. The mellifluous recital by the musical ensemble, gutsy display of karate bouts, demonstration of yoga postures, colourful drills and a myriad of well coordinated performances by the young Amritians enthralled the audience.
The highlight of the day was a valourous bravura presented by the ace archers of national and international fame. The event culminated with a glowing tribute paid to the armed forces of India and the martyrs who laid down their lives at Pulwama.
