ATTENDED BY: Student Members of Eco Club

Eco Club activities for the academic session 2013-14 initiated with the Earth Day Carnival at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dikshit on Friday, April 26, 2013.

The venue had art installations made of recycled materials such as colourfully painted discarded bottles, wood waste and tubes. The CM also released a poster on the common butterflies of Delhi.

The message was loud and clear – to follow the three Rs –reduce, reuse and recycle- so that lesser waste was generated and the amount of pollution could be checked.

There were more than 3000 students from eco-clubs of 400 Delhi schools who spent time at a nature trail at the CM’s residence amid a picnic-like atmosphere. Altogether it was a fun-filled learning experience for both the teacher and the taught with an invaluable cause.
